About Ocras

Developed and designed in 2022, the locally based company Orcas created ‘Dine With Dignity’ from real-life experiences within healthcare environments. 

After witnessing a significant level of people feeling hungry while on texture-modified diets but equally seeing the amount of food waste produced by these diets, it highlighted an opportunity to develop a market-first, revolutionary product range to support patients and healthcare providers across Ireland.

This first-hand experience led to the creation of ‘Ocras’, coming from the Irish word for ‘Hungry’, setting out their mission to leave no one person hungry from their meals whilst also harmoniously prioritising a reduction in food waste. 

‘Dine With Dignity’ seeks to support the ethos of food not being consumed just for its nutritional benefits but also as a form of social inclusion for all, regardless of swallowing issues.

The Range
